A career built between the classroom, the courtroom and the policy table
Dr. Kalpeshkumar L Gupta is a law teacher and researcher with a Ph.D. from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, and more than two decades of experience spanning both industry and academia. He began his career working with advocates, chartered accountants, tax consultants and companies, before moving into full-time academics in 2010.
He worked as an Associate in the Business Policy Area at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad for five years, and later as Assistant Professor (Research) and Faculty Coordinator of the GNLU Legal Incubation Council (GLIC) at Gujarat National Law University — India's first legal incubation centre — where he played a key role in its establishment.
His areas of interest span law, management, public policy, the Right to Information, entrepreneurship, startups and legal-startup ecosystems. He has guided 4 Ph.D. scholars, 3 M.Phil. scholars and 30 LL.M. students, and is presently pursuing his LL.D. from RGNUL, Punjab.
